The carving depicts the four main Punakawan characters (first image from left to right):
- Semar is the elderly father figure and guardian spirit of the Java islands, appearing in human form to live among mortals.
- Gareng, the eldest son, is depicted with a limp and a crippled arm, symbolizing restraint, humility, and careful action.
- Petruk, the middle child, is tall with a long nose and is known for possessing magical abilities that he uses only when necessary.
- Bagong, the youngest, is shown with a stout figure, round eyes, and a naive demeanor, representing honesty and straightforwardness.
Combining function with cultural storytelling, this brass bell offers a distinctive cultural influence to both traditional and contemporary spaces.
